Planning Your Visit

Welcome to Wingate Baptist Church

Below you will find information to help you get to know a little bit about us. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.

What Kind of Church Is Wingate Baptist Church?

We are a Baptist church--but not that kind of Baptist--meaning we value questions more than answers and are welcoming of all people, without exceptions.  WBC has a long history of affirming the role of women in all areas of church leadership. We are affiliated with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina, and the Union Baptist Association.

What Is Worship Like at Wingate Baptist?

Sunday morning worship at WBC is traditional and somewhat formal in style. While the service is traditional, we are always seeking to be responsive to the Holy Spirit. Worship begins at 10:30 am every Sunday morning and lasts approximately one hour.

Where Do I Go When I Arrive?

You will find parking available at the corner of Main Street and Cedar Street, as well as on Church Street between Cedar  and Elm.

When you arrive a greeter will welcome you who will help you find answers to any questions you may have about your first visit. They will also help you find your way to the sanctuary or to a Sunday School class.

Where Do My Kids Go?

We offer childcare during worship for children four and younger. The nursery is located in the education building directly behind the sanctuary. A volunteer will be happy to help you find the appropriate classroom.

We also offer Sunday morning discipleship opportunities for children and youth during the Sunday School hour (9:30-10:30). A volunteer would be happy to help you find the appropriate classroom for your child.
