At Wingate Baptist Church, our goal is to provide students a place to grow as faithful followers of Christ and to develop a faith that sticks with them into adulthood. We do this by offering weekly opportunities for students to grow in relationship with another, discover a faith that affects their whole lives, and by partnering with parents and caregivers to nurture and empower youth.
All students in sixth through twelfth grades are invited to take part in Bible Study at 9:30am. This hour includes a time to connect with one another, enjoy a game or activity together, and study a Scripture passage through teaching and group discussion. We use a lectionary-based curriculum that allows the youth to discuss Biblical passages that will relate to the theme of the Sunday morning worship service.
Youth and Worship
Students are invited to participate in Sunday morning worship at 10:30am. Our worship service provides an opportunity for individuals of all ages to worship and grow together. Throughout the year, youth are invited to lead in worship and service by offering prayers, reading Scripture, or serving alongside of our Audio/Visual Ministry.
In addition to weekly Bible Study, the youth come together for monthly events. These events include both fellowship and mission opportunities. The youth participate in fall and spring retreats as well as Passport camp every summer. These are multi-day trips that give students a chance to step outside of their normal routines, spend time together and with others, deepen their faith, and engage in service.
